Associate Professor
Frontiers science center for transformative molecules
Yang Yangyang joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University in September 2023, serving as associate professor. He obtained his master's degree in 2014 from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, under the guidance of professor Yikang Wu, focusing on the total synthesis of natural products. In 2019, he received doctoral degree from the University of Heidelberg in Germany, supervised by Prof. A. Stephen K. Hashmi, where his research centered on organometallic chemistry based on gold elements.
From 2020 to 2022, Yangyang conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the United States, collaborating with Professor Qin Tian. His research during this period primarily involved the synthesis of novel sp3-rich molecular building blocks for drug synthesis and development. In the following year (2022-2023), he continued his postdoctoral research at the same institution, working with Prof. Daniel Siegwart. This research focused on lipid synthesis and its application in mRNA delivery.
