Chief Editor: Heather Wood, PhD ORCID

Heather obtained a PhD in transplantation biology from the University of Cambridge in 1992. For her postdoctoral research, she worked with Gillian Morriss–Kay at the University of Oxford, investigating the effects of retinoids on hindbrain and limb development, and with Vasso Episkopou at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre, London, studying the roles of Sox genes in neural development. She joined Nature Reviews Neuroscience as an Associate Editor in 2000. In 2005, she became the Editor of Nature Clinical Practice Neurology, and has been Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Neurology since the rebranding of the Clinical Practice titles in 2009.

Senior Editor: Ian Fyfe, PhD ORCID

Ian obtained his PhD at the University of Cambridge, UK, where he studied the assembly of membrane protein complexes involved in membrane transport, supervised by Professor Mike Edwardson. Prior to this, he was awarded a first-class degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, specializing in neuroscience, and gained research experience in several molecular biology laboratories. He has been involved in science communication since 2008 and has written for a number of science society, news and consumer publications. He joined Nature Reviews in August 2014 as Assistant Editor for Nature Reviews Neurology and Nature Reviews Nephrology, and was appointed Associate Editor at Nature Reviews Neurology in August 2015. He became Senior Editor in November 2018.

Associate Editor: Sarah Lemprière, PhD ORCID

Sarah was awarded a first-class degree in physiological sciences from the University of Bristol and went on to complete an MSc in integrative neuroscience at the University of Edinburgh. She obtained her PhD from the University of Edinburgh, during which she studied the actions of ketamine at the synapse under the supervision of Professor Seth Grant. For her postdoctoral research, she worked with Dr Noboru Komiyama at the University of Edinburgh, investigating the mechanisms underlying autism and disability caused by mutations in SynGAP1. Sarah joined Nature Reviews Neurology as an Associate Editor in March 2019.
