研究领域

Ourresearchfocusondevelopingadvanceddynamicbiomaterialsmimickingextracellularmatrixtounderstandhowcellsinteractwiththeirenvironmentandtogaininsightintothemanipulatingmechanismofcellfunctions.Inthecurrentstage,weareparticularlyinterestednotwotopics:(1)User-programmablebiomaterialsfordynamiccellcultureplatformsand(2)Moleculartoolsforcellularmechanosensing. (1)User-programmablebiomaterialsfordynamiccellcultureplatforms Wedevelopnewclassesofuser-programmablehydrogelswithspecialemphasisontheuseofmultiplephotochemicalreactionsthatgovern4Dmaterialresponsiveness,physicochemicaltunability,andbiophysicalalterations,inanorthogonalmanner. (2)Moleculartoolsforcellularmechanosensing. OneofthecentralchallengesincellularmechanotransductionistheunderstandingofthemolecularmechanismsthatenablecellstomodulatetheirmechanicalresponsesandtosenseandactivelydirectthebiophysicalpropertiesoftheECM.Toelucidatethesefundamentalmechanisms,cellularmechanotransductionshouldbestudiedatmolecularlevels.Wedevelopmoleculartoolsthatcanapplyordetectforcesatindividualreceptorswithinreadilyformedcell-ECMorcell-cellcontacts.
