I obtained my Applied Math Ph.D degree in 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Uri Ascher from the Mathematics Department of the University of British Columbia. Before it I had been working with Prof. Pusheng Fei at Wuhan University and from there obtained my Computational Math Ph.D degree in 2006. Since 2009, I worked with Prof. Eldad Haber on inverse problems as a postdoctoral research fellow at UBC until joined SIAT, CAS at Shenzhen in 2010. From 2016, I moved and founded a new Visual Computing Research Center (VCC) at Shenzhen University.
My research interests span over Computer Graphics and Visual Computing, focusing on Geometric Modeling, Shape Analysis, Point Optimization, Scene Understanding, Image Processing, 3D/4D Acquisition and Creation. I currently serve as an Associate Editor-in-Chief for The Visual Computer and work on the editorial board of Computers & Graphics. I am also on the program committees of all major computer graphics conferences including SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH ASIA, EG, SGP, PG, 3DV, CGI, GMP, SMI, GI, CAD/Graphics, etc. I have been invited to be SGP 2019 Program Chair and GMP 2019 Keynoter, in addition to SIGGRAPH ASIA 2017 Technical Briefs and Posters Co-Chair, SIGGRAPH ASIA 2016 Workshops Chair and SIGGRAPH ASIA 2014 Community Liaison Chair. I am the recipient of 2018 Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship, 2015 NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Grant, 2015 Guangdong Technological Innovation Leading Talent Award, 2015 CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association Excellent Member Award, 2014 Guangdong Outstanding Graduate Advisor Award, 2013 CAS International Cooperation Award for Young Scientists, 2012 CAS Lujiaxi Young Talent Award, and 2011 Shenzhen Peacock Talent Award. I am also selected as CCF Distinguished Member and ACM/IEEE/CSIG Senior Member.
