个人简介

中国科学院院士、研究员，男，1954年8月生。1978年毕业于安徽大学数学系，1985年获复旦大学理学博士学位。1987-1988年在中国科学院大气物理研究所作博士后研究，曾在多伦多大学物理系、剑桥大学牛顿研究所、香港科技大学、法国动力气象实验室与夏威夷大学国际太平洋研究中心进行合作研究。1993年被批准为博士生导师。2008年当选发展中国家科学院（TWAS）院士。现任中国科学院海洋环流与波动重点实验室学术委员会主任、国务院学位委员会大气科学评议组成员兼召集人。国际气象学和大气科学协会（IAMAS）动力气象委员会（ICDM）委员，英国皇家气象学会季刊（QJRMS）编委会成员，美国《数学评论》特约评论员、《中国科学-地球科学辑》（中、英文版）、《大气科学》、《Adv. Atmos. Sci.》与《海洋科学进展》等编委；曾任美国气象学会"每月天气评论"associate editor"，国际气象学和大气科学协会（IAMAS）行星大气及其演变委员会（ICPAE）委员等。

研究领域

主要从事该领域大气-海洋的可预报性及相关的资料同化,集合预报与适应性观测方面的研究；涉及厄尔尼诺-南方涛动（ENSO）、大洋热盐环流、阻塞高压、台风与黑潮等
