个人简介

Dr. Pang's primary focus and responsibility is with the Freshman Core Chemistry Laboratory courses (CHEM 14BL, 14CL, 20L and 30AL). Since the year of 2000, Dr. Pang has been focused on implementation of technology into teaching curriculum. He developed an online exams questions database with over 600 unique questions and has successfully implemented the online exams interface in many of his courses. He also developed numerous online writing assignments for the Calibrated Peer Review™ (CPR) program developed here at UCLA by Dr. A. Russell. Dr. Pang also designed and developed numerous online tutorials and a unified course Web site for the Freshmen Core Chemistry Laboratory courses. His other ongoing academic interests include curriculum development/revision for lab courses; modernization of instrumentation for undergraduate laboratories for chemical analysis including the implementation of “portable” instrumentation into lab courses; design and development of an online laboratory reports delivery system; co-author in the new edition of the laboratory textbook. Dr. Pang is a chemistry faculty mentor in the science education program for students who are interested in teaching as a career. Dr. Pang is also the laboratory faculty mentor for new faculty who teaches any one of the core chemistry laboratory courses in the department. Dr. Pang is an active member of American Chemical Society. Dr. Pang is a member of Phi Lambda Upsilon (Honorary Chemical Society) and Phi Kappa Phi (Honorary Chemical Society). He is also a member in the undergraduate laboratory instructional committee.
