个人简介

Dr. Alison E. Turnbull is an assistant professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also holds a joint appointment in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her research focuses on patient-clinician interactions. Her team is currently engaged in quantitative descriptions of patient-clinician interactions and the decision-making process for ICU patients and their families. Dr. Turnbull received her B.A. in biology from Carleton College. She earned her D.V.M. and M.P.H. from Tufts University. She completed her Ph.D. in epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Turnbull joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2014. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Turnbull worked on the Participatory Disease Surveillance and Response Project for Avian Influenza Control for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Indonesia. Dr. Turnbull has been recognized with several honors, including a Dean’s Teaching Fellowship from Johns Hopkins University in 2012-2013.

Dr. Turnbull’s research focuses on patient-clinician interactions. Her lab studies decision-making processes for ICU patients and their families and focuses on long-term outcomes of ICU survivors. Additional research examines ways to improve end-of-life care for patients.
