Dr. Peter B. Terry is a professor of medicine and an associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in environmental health sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His areas of clinical expertise include pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
Dr. Terry received his medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine. His internship and residency in internal medicine were completed at the University of Connecticut and at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine was completed at Johns Hopkins and the Mayo Clinic. In 1993, he completed a master’s degree in philosophy with a concentration in bioethics at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University. Dr. Terry has been a faculty member of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions since 1975.
He is past chairman of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Ethics Committee and he teaches ethics to the Department of Medicine housestaff.
