个人简介

Dr. Snyder researches the quality of cancer care, with a particular focus in two areas: (1) quality of life for cancer patients and (2) coordination of care between cancer specialists and primary care providers. For her quality of life research, she is investigating the use of patient-reported outcome questionnaires in routine oncology practice. This intervention involves having patients complete questionnaires regarding their functioning and well-being, providing the responses to their clinicians, and evaluating whether the questionnaires help their clinicians identify and address these quality-of-life issues. In related research, she has developed the PatientViewpoint webtool (www.PatientViewpoint.org) for collecting these questionnaires and linking the results with the electronic medical record. Dr. Snyder has also conducted multiple studies using large databases to examine the quality of care for cancer survivors -- including preventive and primary care services, comorbid condition care, and cancer follow-up. A particular focus is how involvement of different physician specialties relates to whether survivors receive recommended follow-up. She is also working with a multidisciplinary team to develop survivorship care strategies here at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Snyder holds a Joint Appointment in Health Policy and Management with the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
