个人简介

Dr. Janet Record is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She studies medical education and patient-centered care. Dr. Record holds a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center before joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2006.

Since joining the faculty in 2006, Dr. Record focuses her academic work on medical education and patient-centered care. She serves as associate director of curriculum for the Aliki Initiative, facilitating resident education and related faculty development around providing patient-centered transitions of care. She is leading development of a curriculum to train internal medicine residents to use hand-carried ultrasound to assess volume status by imaging the inferior vena cava, in the setting of the inpatient general medicine service. She co-authored a curriculum for a fellowship in hospital medicine, which is in its fourth year of implementation. Her roles in medical education also include directing the internal medicine subinternship at Johns Hopkins Bayview, overseeing medical student education in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview, attending on the general medicine teaching service and facilitating various small group learning sessions for medical students, residents and faculty.
