Dr. Edgar Miller is a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include hypertension and internal medicine. At the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, Dr. Miller serves as the deputy director for research clinical, education, training and career development and the director of the Clinical Research Scholars Program (KL-2).
Dr. Miller received his B.A. in science from The Pennsylvania State University and his M.A. in oceanography and limnology from Western Connecticut State University. He earned his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College and Ph.D. in marine ecology from the University of Connecticut. He completed his residency at Medical University of South Carolina and was a research fellow in general internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
His research interests include non-pharmacologic therapies, hypertension and antioxidants.
Dr. Miller has served as a reviewer for many journals, such as Ethnicity and Disease, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and JAMA, and was associate editor for the Journal of General Internal Medicine from 2003 to 2005. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Heart Association, the American Society of Hypertension, the American Society of Nephrology and the Society of General Internal Medicine.
