个人简介

Dr. Roy G. Brower is a professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include acute lung injury, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and critical care medicine. Dr. Brower serves as the medical director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. He earned his M.D. from Johns Hopkins. He completed his residency and performed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Brower's research interests include ventilation-associated lung injury, ARDS, and clinical and translational research in acute lung injury. He served as reviewer for the Johns Hopkins Hospital 2015-2016 Antibiotics Guidelines. He has been recognized with several honors, including the Departmental Teaching Award from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Excellence in Education and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Critical Care Assembly of the American Thoracic Society. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. MD; Medicine, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (1976)

Ventilation-associated lung injury; Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS); Clinical and translational research in acute lung injury; Respiratory failure; Acute Lung Injury; Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome; Critical Care Medicine

Dr. Brower has led or contributed to a dozen clinical trials looking at the management of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). He also studies oxygen toxicity, a condition that results from receiving too much supplemental oxygen.
