个人简介

Dr. Giulio Agnetti is an assistant professor in the Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is currently engaged in research on cardiovascular disease and heart failure. In 2016, Dr. Agnetti was appointed director of the Center for Research on Cardiac Intermediate Filaments (CRCIF), with the goal of fostering collaboration efforts aimed at investigating the roles of this understudied component of the cardiac cytoskeleton. He also serves as a consulting faculty for the Center for Resources in Integrative Biology (CRIB) within Johns Hopkins University, with reference to the preparation of cardiac samples for mass spectrometry analysis. Dr. Agnetti received his undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy – where he also earned his PhD in biochemistry and pathophysiology of aging in 2005. He first joined Johns Hopkins University as a visiting scientist the same year. The following year he enrolled to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiovascular proteomics and joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2012. He is an active member of the American Heart Association, for which, among other efforts, he organized two symposia for the Scientific Sessions 2014 and 2016. His enthusiastic contribution to the mission of the AHA has been recognized through his induction as fellow in the American Heart Association (FAHA) in 2013.
