研究领域
Our expertise lies at the interface of biomaterials and photonics, where we can tailor the properties of materials with light. We are particularly interested in designing highly ordered responsive materials to better understand cell-matrix interactions for applications in 3D cell culture, tissue engineering, and cancer metastasis. The ability to accurately reproduce the natural environment that cells and tissue encounter within an in vitro model will allow for greater fundamental understanding of cell biology.
To accomplish these goals, we are designing 3D scaffolds tunable in space and time to study and guide cell growth. With these technologies we hope to control stem cell differentiation, fabricate functional tissues for implantation and build biological models. We are also interested in expanding this technologies to control cell-matrix interactions in vivo for therapeutic applications.
