刁宏燕教授在长期从事疾病的免疫发病机制方面的研究,发现NKT细胞分泌骨桥素,而且在肝炎的发病过程中NKT细胞是通过骨桥素进行免疫调节作用以及骨桥素信号传导途径,揭示了肝炎发病过程中嗜中性白细胞、NKT细胞引起肝细胞凋亡的的分子机制经过长期单克隆抗体的研究工作,以单克隆抗体作为免疫细胞活化阻断剂进行肝炎的治疗性研究并申请了专利。
