Research in my lab centers on the use of capillary column liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis, to study physiological processes [1-3]. These miniaturized separation techniques provide lower solvent consumption, tunable method parameters, systems capable of resolving individual components of complex mixtures and may be translated into devices and methodology which are more portable and affordable. These characteristics make cLC and CE excellent tools for an integrated approach for the investigation of affinity interaction, rapid screening protocol for drug research or environmental monitoring, and the development of new tools to understand the basis of disease.
