个人简介

Jon R. Parquette received a B.S degree in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988, and his Ph.D. in 1994 from Stanford University working with Barry M. Trost. At Stanford, he was an American Chemical Society, Division of Organic Chemistry Fellow. After completing postdoctoral work at Caltech in 1996, working with Peter Dervan as an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow, he became a faculty member at The Ohio State University. His research is currently supported by a National Science Foundation CAREER AWARD (1999).

研究领域

Our research program revolves around the theme of applied synthetic organic chemistry. We are particularly interested in the design and synthesis of functional macromolecules that fold or self-assemble into well-defined nanostructures because these molecules have tremendous potential to function as enantioselective catalysts, targeted drug delivery agents and electronic materials, among many other applications. Consequently, this work is highly collaborative in nature, involving researchers in diverse fields ranging from electrical engineering to oncology. Students involved in my research program will primarily learn techniques in synthetic organic chemistry; however, a broad appreciation of topics of immediate national (such as energy production and storage) and biomedical interest (anticancer approaches) will be developed. Current areas of interest include: Supramolecular Organocatalysis. Asymmetric Catalysis via Dynamically Chiral Ligands. Self-Assembly of Nanostructures for Optoelectronics. Supramolecular Strategies for Treatment and Imaging of Cancer.
