Ph.D., Biology, Harvard University, 1986 M.A., Genetics, College of William and Mary, 1979 B.A., Biology and German, Northern Arizona University, 1971 Dr. Weber joined the Biology Department at USM in 1991 after postdoctoral work at Harvard University and the University of Minnesota. He is an evolutionary geneticist who uses long term selection experiments in fruit flies to understand the genes involved in complex traits. Dr. Weber regularly teaches the first semester course, focused on cell biology (BIO 105), in the introductory biology sequence, along with courses in Genetics (BIO 201), Experimental Genetics (BIO 408/508), and Evolution (BIO 217). He also teaches an advanced course on Issues in Evolution (BIO 417/517).
