个人简介

Dr. John Scolaro is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy, Husson University. Dr. Scolaro earned his PharmD degree at Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed a 1-year post-graduate pharmacy residency program, with a focus in primary/ambulatory care, at Penobscot Community Healthcare Center (PCHC), a federally qualified health center which prides itself on its ability to provide care to under-served communities, in Bangor, Maine. Through PCHC, Dr. Scolaro practices clinical pharmacy at Helen Hunt Health Center located in Old Town, Maine. At his site, he focuses on practicing collaborative healthcare as a member of an integrated team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other healthcare personnel. Dr. Scolaro specializes in chronic disease state management, including diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, anticoagulation, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as a multitude of primary care disease states. In his current role at Husson University, Dr. Scolaro coordinates Self-Care II, a didactic 2-credit hour course aimed at acquainting students with over-the-counter medications and point-of-care testing devices. He has also implemented a new (voluntary) program for students, the Pharmacy Residency Exploration and Preparation Program (PREPP), which is a 6-week program aimed at helping better prepare students for obtaining post-graduate residency training positions.
