David Richards, PhD joined the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences at Husson University as Associate Professor in August 2015. Previously, he held faculty positions at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. He received his PhD in Neuroscience from University College, London (advisor Dr. Tim Bliss FRS), and carried out postdoctoral stints at the University of Colorado Medical School (with Dr. Bill Betz), University of Zurich, Switzerland ( with Dr. Beat Gahwiler) and University of Wisconsin, Madison (with Dr. Ed Chapman). His research is focused on understanding the detailed mechanisms of synaptic transmission, and how this impacts function in health and disease. He has received significant grant funding over the years (>$1 million in direct costs), and has authored a number of highly cited publications in his field. Dave is excited to be part of Husson University School of Pharmacy, and is looking forward to the exciting new opportunities this move brings.
