个人简介

Postdoctoral Associate – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH - Zürich) (2009-2012) Ph.D. - Johns Hopkins University (2009) M.A. - Johns Hopkins University (2006) B.A. (ACS Certified) - Grinnell College (2003) Soren Eustis received his B.A. in chemistry from Grinnell College in 2003. In 2000, he received an NSF REU award to pursue research with Dr. Patrick Brezonik at the University of Minnesota investigating the removal of bioavailable phosphorus from urban ponds. In 2002, he received funding from the Tulane University Center for Bioenvironmental Research (CBR) to work with Dr. Glen R. Boyd investigating the occurrence and fate of naproxen in the Mississippi Delta and Lake Ponchartrain. A second CBR grant allowed him to continue this work at Grinnell College under the supervision of Dr. T. Andrew Mobley as a mentored advanced project (MAP). In the fall of 2003, he began his doctoral work in physical chemistry in the lab of Dr. Kit H. Bowen at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). While at JHU, he was honored with the Langmuir-Cresap award for excellence in physical chemistry research. In 2009, he successfully defended his dissertation entitled “Gas Phase Anion Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Acid-Base Systems, Solvated Molecules and MALDI Matrix Molecules”. In the fall of 2009, he moved to Zürich, Switzerland to begin his postdoctoral research with Prof. Dr. Kristopher McNeill at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). At ETH, he oversaw the design and installation of a femtosecond spectroscopy laboratory for the investigation of the mechanisms of chemical transformation in the environment.
