B.S. - Polymer Physics - University of Science and Technology of China Ph.D. - Organic Chemistry - University of Oregon Biosketch Mingdi Yan obtained her B.S. degree in Polymer Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). After receiving her Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Oregon, she took a position at Ikonos Corporation focusing on developing chemical sensors. She was a Chemistry professor at Portland State University (1998-2011), and is currently professor of Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her research interests include surface and interface, glyconanomaterials, microarrays, and nanofabrication. Her professional activities include serving as a consultant for private companies, as a permanent member on the NIH BMBI study section.
