My research interest is to design and build nanomaterials rationally from the viewpoint of material chemistry. My previous work include exploring new synthetic strategy for nanomaterials with demand shape and functionality; revealing the mechanism of nanoparticle 1D array formation in colloidal solution and sorting the nanoclusters by density gradient centrifugation; realizing scalable production of DNA origami through enzymatic reactions and utilizing these DNA nanostructures as effective carriers for nanomedicine application; creating complex molecular topologies by configuring DNA four-way junctions. Currently, our research projects are targeting the miniaturization of the microelectromechanical system (MEMS) to the nanoscale, which is promising to measure small displacement and force at the molecular scale. Specifically, we want to improve the structural complexity of nanomaterials through rational design in nano-synthesis; realize the programmable self-assembly of nanoparticles with appropriate orientation via surface pattering of nanoparticles with DNA; combine the routine materials with nanoparticles to enhance their inherent properties or create new properties.
