个人简介
Dr. Kokkoni joined the research faculty in the Department of Bioengineering in 2018. Previously, she was at the University of Delaware where she received her postdoctoral training under the mentoring of Prof. Herbert Tanner and completed her doctorate degree in Biomechanics and Movement Science under the advisement of Prof. Cole Galloway. During those years, Dr. Kokkoni was a member of the GoBabyGo! team and worked on the development and evaluation of novel interventions and technologies to promote mobility of children with motor challenges. Dr. Kokkoni has also received a master's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she conducted research in biomechanics under the advisement of Prof. Nicholas Stergiou. At UCR, she aims to create and assess novel enriched learning environments that combine assistive technology and motor training, and to apply those in real world settings for high-dosage neurorehabilitation.
