个人简介

Dr. Melanie Dicks is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy where she coordinates and teaches in the Wellness & Health Promotion course. She teaches with a focus on patient-centered care in ambulatory and community settings. Dr. Dicks also coordinates and teaches in the Community Service Learning component of the Patient-Centered Care Experience course series. Within the College, she serves on the Curriculum Committee and advises the UK chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association. As a clinical pharmacist, Dr. Dicks serves at Bluegrass Community Health Center, which uses the Patient-Centered Medical Home model. Here she provides ambulatory care using an interdisciplinary approach to provide medication therapy management, chronic disease state management, and other clinical pharmacy services to optimize therapy for vulnerable and indigent patient populations. Her practice interests include underserved patient populations, culturally-sensitive care, long-acting naltrexone and substance abuse, and the patient-centered medical home. Dr. Dicks is a 2000 graduate of Kentucky State University, a 2004 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, and was residency-trained at The Ohio State University. She continues with a passion in teaching pharmacy students as well as underserved populations, and she strives to advance cultural diversity efforts within the College and in patient care.
