从事海洋生态与微生物分子生态学研究,近海集中于污染物毒理及微生物在典型生态事件(如赤潮、滨海湿地、珊瑚礁)中的作用;远海集中于不同生境(大洋、深海)微生物的结构与功能分析。研究工作旨在阐明微生物在生态系统中的调节与作用机制。
