研究领域
I am interested in insect-plant interactions, and more generally the behavior and evolutionary ecology of insects and their populations. My research currently focuses on the interactions between insects and slickspot peppergrass (Lepidium papilliferum), a rare mustard endemic to southwest Idaho. Research topics include the use of seed introductions to create and augment L. papilliferum populations, seed predation by harvester ants, insect-mediated pollination, habitat associations and population dynamics of Owyhee harvester ants, territoriality in harvester ants, and predator-prey interactions between crab spiders and insect pollinators. I have also conducted studies on the mating system and population genetics of L. papilliferum. The genetics research was in collaboration with Dr. Stephen Novak (Boise State).
