Dr. Elizabeth Sherman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and an HIV/AIDS Clinical Pharmacy Specialist providing clinical service for the Memorial Healthcare System. At the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Sherman lectures on antiviral agent pharmacotherapy, coordinates the Pharmacotherapy course in infectious diseases and oncology, and precepts advanced pharmacy practice experience rotation students on four-week HIV/AIDS rotations. In the clinic, Dr. Sherman works closely with a multidisciplinary team of infectious disease clinicians as a clinical pharmacist with expertise in antiretroviral resistance, drug interactions, and medication adherence. She also serves as Principal Investigator for the Nova Southeastern University Local Performance Site of the Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center. Information about the Center can be found here http://hivaidsinstitute.med.miami.edu/partners/se-aetc. Dr. Sherman received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University, completed a pharmacy practice residency with an emphasis in ambulatory care at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, a specialty residency in HIV/AIDS at the University of California San Francisco, and is credentialed as an HIV Pharmacist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Sherman’s clinical research interests focus on improving antiretroviral medication adherence and advancing patient care by promoting pharmacy services in the primary care setting.
