Dr. Riskin has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice since August, 2011. Dr. Riskin received her BS in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Psychology) from the University of Florida in 1998 and her Doctor of Pharmacy from NSU College of Pharmacy in 2003. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Baptist Hospital of Miami in 2004, during which she concentrated on Academia and Critical Care. She became Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy in 2008. Following her residency, Dr. Riskin was employed at Shands Jacksonville (Jacksonville, FL) for 2 years as Central Charge Pharmacist, after which she became the Pharmacy Clinical Operations Manager at Bethesda Memorial Hospital (Boynton Beach, FL) until 2011. She has held a practice site at Cleveland Clinic Florida (Weston, FL) in which she was instrumental in organizing a strong student orientation program and has offered rotations in Internal Medicine, Drug Information and Medication Safety / Quality Improvement and most recently, Transitional Care. Dr. Riskin is the Chief Coordinator for the Patient Care Management Laboratory series, in which students are given the opportunity to practice pharmacotherapy in a simulated small group environment. She also coordinates the Pharmacy Practice Seminar course, where students are tasked with innovating a pharmacy-related service or product, culminating in the PharmaCon event, held at the end of the year. In addition, she lectures in Pharmacotherapy and Management course. She is an active member of various college committees including the Admissions, Curriculum and Teaching Certificate committees. She also serves on a University-wide interprofessional education committee. She is a co-advisor to the Florida Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists Student Chapter, as well as the co-Grand Council Deputy for the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Delta Rho Chapter. She also holds membership in multiple professional organizations, such as the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, Florida Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (Southeast Chapter), American Academy of Colleges of Pharmacy and Rho Chi Pharmaceutical Society.
