My lab studies the relationship between protein structure and function, and specifically how enzyme activity is regulated. To do this, we use a combination of techniques, including X-ray crystallography, transient and steady state kinetic, sedimentation velocity and other biophysical tools.  Major projects in the lab include: i)  structural enzymology of UDP-glucose dehydrogenase, an important enzyme in metastasis, drug metabolism and drug resistance; ii) UDP-xylose synthase, a key enzyme in the synthesis of proteoglycans; and iii) structural studies on glycosyltransferases in the Golgi.
