Roslyn Crowder, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Stetson University. Crowder is a molecular cell biologist with expertise in death receptor-mediated cell death. She comes to Stetson University from Penn State's Hershey Medical Center, where she recently completed her postdoctoral research examining mechanisms of resistance to TRAIL-induced apoptosis in human non-malignant cells. Crowder began her postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania and moved with her research group to Penn State's Hershey Medical Center in 2010. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she was selected as a PENN-PORT postdoctoral fellow. This NIH-funded Institutional Research and Career Developmental Award provides unique postdoctoral training in both research and current methods in teaching. During her time in this program, she taught introductory biology and cancer biology at Lincoln University. Crowder received her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her bachelor of science in engineering from Florida A&M University.
