研究领域

Chemical Biology and Organic Chemistry

Guillermo Gerona-Navarro joined the Department of Chemistry in September 2013. He is originally from Cuba, where he earned his B.S. in chemistry from Havana University, and he received his Ph.D. from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and an instructor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Research in his laboratory encompasses a broad spectrum of bioorganic and synthetic chemistry in both solution and solid phase, together with a wide array of biochemical and cell assays. Development of small molecules and peptidomimetics targeting protein-protein interactions inside of the cell are being performed to investigate the role of these biologically important proteins in human biology and disease, with special focus on cancer and HIV. aculty-Bios/Guillermo-Gerona-Navarro#sthash.tLcyYUZq.dpuf
