Prof. Grabow acquired the venia lengendi in Physical Chemistry during 2004 at the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Universität Hannover after receiving the doctoral degree at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and spending a number of years first at the National Institute Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg MD and then the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory & Harvard University, Cambridge MA. In 2010, he was appointed Außerplanmäßiger Professor at the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Universität Hannover. Since 2017, he was appointed as “Guest Professor” at Chongqing University. Honors Smithsonian Visiting Scientist Award 1996: The Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC. International Mez-Starck Prize 2009: Dr. Barbara Mez-Starck Stiftung zur Förderung der Wissenschaft und Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Naturwissenschaften, insbesondere der Chemie und Physik. Norman Hascoe Lecture on the Frontiers of Science Spring 2010, University of Connecticut, in the fields of physics, chemistry, and biological sciences. Morino Lecturer 2015: The Morino Foundation for Molecular Science. ICRAAS 2016 Award: The India SpectroPhysics Assiciation.
