（1）冶金工程过程的洁净煤利用技术，主要包括：煤焦化技术、喷煤燃烧技术、碳捕集及存储技术；（2）高炉炼铁工艺的优化，主要包括：高炉炼铁节能降耗技术、高炉渣结构与性能的表征分析技术；（3）非高炉炼铁工艺的优化，主要包括：块煤的裂解机理及产生半焦的性能研究。
