Primary Care Specialty Residency, University of Mississippi Medical Center, 2002 Pharm.D., Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, 2001 Dr. Brandon Sucher is a professor of pharmacy practice at Regis University School of Pharmacy. He graduated in 2001 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy. He subsequently completed a Primary Care Specialty Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Sucher is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, and he is recognized as a Certified Diabetes Educator and a Certified Asthma Educator. The pioneer spirit instilled in him through his experiences as a student in the second graduating class of TTUHSC School of Pharmacy culminated into a passion that led him to join teams of faculty at two new schools of pharmacy. Prior to joining the faculty of Regis University in 2009, Dr. Sucher made his debut as a pharmacy educator with Palm Beach Atlantic University Gregory School of Pharmacy (PBA) in 2002. His passion for leader-development led him to develop and teach Applied Leadership in Pharmacy Practice, an elective course at both schools. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Dr. Sucher practiced as a primary care clinical pharmacy specialist at the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center (WPB VAMC). His duties included therapeutic management of patients with hypertension, dyslipidemia, and diabetes and serving as a preceptor for advanced pharmacy practices in Ambulatory Care and Advanced Ambulatory Care. He also developed and served as the primary preceptor for an academia elective rotation for pharmacy practice residents at the WPB VAMC. Dr. Sucher was recognized as a PBA Preceptor of Distinction in 2007 and 2008. Currently, Dr. Sucher is a clinical pharmacist in at Uptown Primary Care, a patient centered medical home internal medicine clinic. In his role at Uptown Primary Care, he focuses on a variety of collaborative patient care initiatives and helping patients optimize care for asthma, COPD, and diabetes. Dr. Sucher’s publications and abstracts have appeared in such journals as The American Journal of Hypertension, The American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Journal of Asthma, U.S. Pharmacist, and U.S. Pharmacist Health Systems Edition. In addition, he has authored over 80 non-peer reviewed publications, workshops, and pharmacist certification courses and has given a number of presentations at the local, regional, and national levels. His scholarship interests include the impact of supplemental instruction on student success, leader-development, and evidence-based medicine for the treatment of asthma, COPD, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Dr. Sucher has been highly involved in the Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity. He contributed in a number of leadership roles, including serving as Phi Delta Chi's national president. He also served as a member of the board of directors for the Pharmacy Leadership and Education Institute. His personal interests include enjoying time with his wife and daughter, exploring other countries, and diving.
