Ishikawa group was established in 2009 when Prof. Ishikawa was appointed as a full professor at Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University. At present, the group consists of three academic staffs (Ishikawa, Fukuda, and Fuyuhiro), and undergraduate and graduate students. Ishikawa group explores electronic and magnetic properties of coordination compounds containing π, d, and/or f electrons. We start our new projects by designing, and synthesizing novel coordination compounds, which are necessary for the following physical measurements. Therefore, synthetic techniques including instrumental analysis for the structural determinations are also required for all the lab members. The person who would like to join in Ishikawa group is required to learn wide range of knowledge of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, in addition to the emerging area of modern material science. Our goal is to establish new “fundamental principles” of coordination compounds through the unique electronic and magnetic properties of π, d, and f electrons.
