个人简介

Disease ecology, population and community ecology, metagenomic analysis, transcriptome profiling, and next generation sequencing

研究领域

My research focuses on the ecology and pathogensis of vector-borne diseases and how global change impacts the distribution and dynamics of these zoonotic diseases. Research in my lab investigates the role of environmental factors on community ecology and how such interactions influence the distribution and prevalence of pathogens such as Borrelia burgdorferi, the cause of Lyme disease. In addition, I also study the global patterns of amphibian decline due to an emerging fungal pathogen. I utilize a range of field, molecular, and quantitative approaches to understand the patterns and processes of pathogen transmission. The unifying motivation for my research is an interest in a fundamental understanding of the linkages between the environment, global change, and disease by combining the principles of community and disease ecology.
