研究领域

Research Interests: Research in my group is centered on the investigation of chemical kinetics and reaction mechanisms, in particular those systems exhibiting autocatalytic features. Our interests in homogeneous systems are currently focused on studying the photo-reaction mechanism of the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction. Other systems of particular interests include the chlorite-thiosulfate reaction and organic reactions involving hydroxyketone. Our research in reaction-diffusion media focuses on new types of chemical patterns and on the effects of external forcing on wave formation. Our research program includes a search for pattern formation in the chemical systems which exhibit stochastic dynamics. The influence of external forcing on pattern formation is focused on the dynamical conditions near a Hopf-bifurcation point, where an inhibitory perturbation is expected to be able to induce wave formation at unexcited area and meanwhile inhibit existing wave activity. Novel wave formation and interactions such as oscillatory clusters with breathing segregations are expected to be uncovered.
