Ph.D.,University of Manitoba, 1972, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Biochemistry M.Sc., Punjab Agri. University, India, 1966, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Biochemistry B.Sc., University of Udaipur, India, 1963, College of Agriculture, Agriculture Dr. Ramji L. Khandelwal obtained his PhD from the University of Manitoba and then was trained as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Dr. Edwin G. Krebs at the University of California, Davis. With a strong presence and steady leadership throughout his eight year tenure as Department Head, Dr. Khandelwal completed his term in 2011 as head, but continues to teach and is involved in many university committees. His research interests are to delineate aberrations that occur in diseased states, especially in diabetes. He is also working on the interrelationship between insulin and tumor necrosis factor-alpha and how they modulate insulin signaling pathways.
