个人简介

Dr. Li Chen is currently an Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He received B. Eng. from Tianjin University in 1991. After that, he has worked as a Design Engineer on embedded systems for six years. He received Ph.D. degree from the University of Alberta in 2004. He presently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in digital electronics and analog electronics. His general research areas are in VLSI and microelectronics. His current research focuses on radiation-tolerant memories and microelectronics, fault-tolerant systems and reconfigurable computing. One major project in radiation-tolerant field is to design a digital VLSI library and a reconfigurable 32-bit Forth processor. Error-correcting codes implementation with FPGAs and ASIC are also under investigation. Recently he received a NSERC strategy grant in biomedical area, developing a near-fall and fall detecting system for older adults. UWB sensors are used to measure the medical parameters. He is currently looking for graduate students, please send your brief introduction to li.chen[-at-]usask.ca.
