Our laboratory aims at understanding biodiversity by studying plant evolution. Our research involves field work, molecular biology, as well as analytic and modelling approaches. We use tools from phylogenetics, population genetics, quantitative genetics and bioinformatics to understand the evolutionary processes of plants. Some of the current projects of the lab involve: Evolution of mating systems in the Antillean plant genus Gesneria Study molecular processes involved in phytoremediation using transcriptomics Development of analytical tools to study hybridization and polyploidy Conservation genetics of rare Quebec plants
