个人简介

Professor Roland A. Fischer studied Chemistry at TUM and obtained his Dr. rer. nat. with Prof. Wolfgang A. Herrmann in 1989. After a postdoctoral period at the University of California at Los Angeles with Prof. Herbert D. Kaesz, he completed his postdoctoral teaching qualification at TUM (1990-1995). He was Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Heidelberg University from 1996 to 1997 and at Ruhr-University Bochum from 1997 to 2015. He was Graduate Dean of Ruhr-University Research School. Since 2016, Professor Fischer has held the Chair of Inorganic and Metal-Organic Chemistry at TUM.

Professor Roland A. Fischer (*1961) conducts research in the field of inorganic and metal-organic synthetic chemistry. His particular interest lies in the development of functional molecular materials with potential for use in energy conversion, catalysis, gas storage and separation, sensing, photonics and microelectronics. One of his research goals is the integration of chemical and physical multifunctionality in photoactive, conductive, and stimuli-responsive Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs).
