个人简介

Dr. DeGroot is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. His main research interests are in the application of computational fluid dynamics modelling and high performance computing to the study of industrially-relevant problems in the areas of thermofluids and water/wastewater treatment. From 2012 to 2014 he was employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo, in collaboration with ANSYS Inc., where he worked primarily on the development of efficient methods for conducting sensitivity analysis within computational fluid dynamics codes. From 2014 to 2015 he worked as a research scientist at Trojan Technologies where he focused on modelling and optimization of wastewater treatment processes. In January 2016, he became a faculty member within the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the ASME and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
