个人简介

Dr. Tremblay received his PhD from the University of Ottawa while working in the laboratories of the National Research Council (1989). His PhD focused on the production of cellulose membranes for the separation of ethanol from dilute solutions. He worked as a Research Officer in the National Research Council's Division of Chemistry later renamed ICPET from 1982 to 1991. He was very active in technology transfer, obtained several patents and published papers and reports on the production, characterization and performance of synthetic membranes. In 1991, Dr. Tremblay joined the University of Ottawa and continues to work on the fabrication and application of synthetic membranes. He now teaches courses in membrane processes, sustainable development and transport phenomena. His current research projects are in the areas of; biodiesel production, where he is the co-inventor of a novel membrane reactor technology for the production of biodiesel, membrane separations for oily wastewater, optimization of ethanol separations using zeolite membranes, direct hydrocarbon fuel cells and the development of membrane based evaporative cooling technologies.
