个人简介
Professor Benoit Lessard completed a B.Eng (2007), a M.Eng (2008) and a Ph.D. (2012) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at McGill University. Prof. Lessard’s graduate studies research focused on the controlled synthesis of a variety of novel functional polymers using nitroxide-mediated polymerization.
Professor Lessard did a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry where he was awarded an NSERC Banting post-doctoral fellowship. Prof. Lessard’s research was focused on the synthesis and integration of new small molecules and polymers into next generation organic electronics such as organic photovoltaics (OPVs), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic thin film transistors (OTFTs).
Born and raised in Toronto, Benoît H. Lessard grew up with a multitude of hobbies including acting in high school plays, attending visual art competitions and playing a variety of organized sports such as soccer, hockey and waterpolo. After a short period on the European touring youth waterpolo Canadian national team (under 16) Professor Lessard gracefully retired from professional sport in pursuit of higher education (he was cut for not being good enough). Now Professor Lessard's hobbies consist of keeping active, cooking extravagant meals for friends/family and traveling whenever possible.
