研究领域

Green Technologies Laboratory In the Green Technologies Lab, we apply sciences (e.g., inorganic sulphur chemistry) and engineering principles (e.g., transport phenomena) to address challenges the planet is facing-from climate change to sustainable energy. We learn from the nature and explore biomass to discover unique structures that facilitate the performance of nanoporous carbons in energy and environmental applications. We develop new concepts and processes for synthesizing novel nanoporous carbons from biomass and industrial wastes for air and water purification and capacitive electrical energy storage. We study the climatic effects of air contaminates, such as aerosols, and simulate the fate and transport of pollutants in the atmosphere. Through our efforts, new technologies and tools are developed for enhanced sustainability, maximized value of natural resources, minimized emissions to air and water, as well as improved understanding of impacts of pollutants in the natural environment.
