The basic research theme is the development of novel methods and instrumentation for the non-invasive evaluation of the visual and oculomotor systems in both normal and diseased states. I am particularly interested in developing enabling technologies to measure and analyze eye movements.
The research work in my group is divided into three main themes: a) development of advanced eye-tracking technologies, b) development of methods to analyze visual scanning patterns and c) development of medical instrumentation. The methods and systems that we are developing are used in studies of patients with cognitive impairments, psychiatric disorders or ophthalmological diseases.
