I am recently returned from maternity leave eager to resume teaching and pursue my interest in educational technologies. My present focus is on the use of technological tools and active learning approaches to enhance student learning and collaboration both in the lecture and laboratory environment. I am proudly “home grown”, earning a Bachelor’s degree specializing in Biochemistry and majoring in Human Biology, followed by a Doctorate in Biochemistry, both at the University of Toronto. My doctoral research focused on characterization of the Sir2 family of NAD-dependent histone deacetylases, enzymes which are involved in a variety of cellular processes including aging and gene regulation.
