Education B.S., National Taiwan University, 1970 M.S., West Virginia University, 1973 Ph.D., West Virginia University, 1975 M.S. (Statistics), Kansas State University, 1978 Key Honors and Distinctions National Academy of Engineering, 2001 Invented the leading clean-coal technology in the United States: chemical looping processes for electricity, hydrogen, fuel and chemical production -- which have been licensed and are currently being demonstrated at a pilot scale for commercial applications. Invented the first and only Electrical Capacitance Volume Tomography for 3-dimensional real-time imaging of multiphase flows and reactor systems – commercialized by a spinoff company (Tech4Imaging) and used worldwide in academic research and industrial practice.
