Dr. Sean Howard received his BA and PhD from the Department of Peace Studies, University of Bradford, UK. Sean has worked for a number of British and American non-governmental organisations advocating a nuclear-weapon-free world and broader demilitarisation. From 1996-2003, he was the founding editor of Disarmament Diplomacy, the journal of the UK-based Acronym Institute. In addition to nuclear disarmament, his current research interests include the political history of twentieth century physics, the history and philosophy of science, and the military and environmental impact of new technologies. He also writes poetry, and is the author of two collections of verse: Local Calls (Cape Breton University Press, 2009) and Incitements (Gaspereau Press, 2011).
